Homework: Students are to complete and pass 5 Readtheory passages for set 7 (Jan.6-12) by Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Students are to complete IXL II. Contractions (1-2) with a smart score of 80 or above by Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Card Marking 2 ends on January 17, 2020 and any missing work should be turned in by the end of this week.

Test corrections for the Midterm will be due on Friday, January 10, 2020.

Hope everyone had a fantastic New Year! School reopens tomorrow, January 6, 2020 and students will begin the Language Usage NWEA test tomorrow. This will be completed during Social Studies class and will continue for the week. Reading NWEA is scheduled for next week and students will test in ELA class.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for today between 4-7pm.

Homework: Complete and PASS 5 Read Theory passages. Students should have completed and passed 15 passages by the end of this week. This is our third week of Read Theory homework.

IXL-Letter F (1-3) on Analyzing Literature is due Sunday, November 24, 2019.

We are scheduled to go to the book fair this week. Core 1 and 3 will visit on Thursday and Core 2 will visit on Friday.

Homework: Students are to complete IXLs 1-2 letter T (shades of meaning) by Sunday, November 17, 2019. Complete and pass 5 passages from Readtheory.org…you must be signed into your gmail account for scores to transfer to the teacher account. Also, please check student connect for any missing assignments. This should be checked on a regular basis for students to stay updated on grades and missing assignments.

Friendly reminder that students will not have school tomorrow on November 5, 2019. School will resume on Wednesday, November 6, 2019.

Homework: Complete IXLs 1-3 Letter R on Homophones with a smart score of 80 or above by Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Readtheory homework is also due Sunday, November 10, 2019. Students are to login to Readtheory.org and complete 5 passages with a passing score of 75% or higher. It may take more than 5 passages to pass 5, so be sure to read the stories carefully and answer the questions by rereading the text.

Students are to complete any unfinished work for the close and critical essay in Google Classroom Docs. This is due tomorrow and many students began typing their final copy in class today, but did not have time to finish.

IXLs on Idioms and Adages (S.1-4) is assigned for this week and due Sunday, November 3, 2019.

If students did not finish the Pixar Clips Plot Diagram activity, it was assigned for homework and due Monday. The link to the clips is posted under the October 2 blog post.

Spirit Week is next week and starting Monday students can show their school spirit with the following schedule:

Monday: Represent a college/sport team

Tuesday: Wear slides today

Wednesday: 6th graders wear green today

Thursday: Wear a costume (no masks, full face makeup, or props)

Friday: Wear Woodworth colors
