Just a friendly reminder that the required work for the Week of March 16-22, 2020 is due this Sunday. I have students who have completed and turned in the work and many others who have not. Be sure to give yourself ample time finish the assignments so you’re not overwhelmed. Also, the short answer questions must be answered in a complete sentence to receive full credit.

The following assignment are due Sunday, March 22, 2020 for our online learning requirements.

2. “Nadia the Willful” Figurative Language
3. “Grandma’s House” Readworks article (The short answer questions must be answered in a complete sentence to receive full credit)
4. Read daily for 20 minutes (A good fit book)

The assignments are posted in Google Classroom and all assignments will be submitted through Google Classroom.

Good morning,

The next few weeks of communication and learning will take place through Google Classroom. Students will be required to complete a minimum of two assignments on a weekly basis that will be assigned in Google Classroom. The assignments will be uploaded on Monday and due by Sunday. There will be updates/announcements through the blog if any changes occur. If students do not have access to internet, Comcast is offering free internet. Homework and classwork:

IXL: 6th grade Letter C.1, C.2, and C.3 (Author’s Purpose and Tone) with a smart goal of 80 or above.

Students that were absent can retrieve classwork from Google Classroom and print the assignments for completion. Today we worked on Frayer Models and Poetry. Students who will not attend school tomorrow, I’ve uploaded Cornell Notes for “Nadia the Willful.” Also, many students completed the WIDA Speaking test in the Team Room.

Homework: Students are to complete the Frida Kahlo summarization sheet by Monday, March 2, 2020.

IXL homework for letter J-Text Features (5th grade) and letter D.1, D.2, D.3, D.4-Text Features (6th grade) will be due on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Enjoy the Mid-Winter Break!!!

Students are completing their argumentative essay and it is due for Core 1 and 3 by Sunday, February 9, 2020. It is due for Core 2 by Wednesday, February 12, 2020. They are required to open the document through Google Classroom and TURN IN assignment. Also, IXL is due Sunday for all three Cores (Part A numbers 1-2 on Main Idea -5th grade).

Spirit week begins Monday with Pajama Day!

IXL homework has been extended to Sunday, February 9, 2020. Students are expected to complete letter A (5th grade) 1-2 with a smart goal of 80 or above to earn full credit.

Homework: Complete IXLs EE (5th grade) Context Clues with a smart goal of 80 or above. There will be no Readtheory assignments this week.

Extra Credit Option: Students have the option of earning extra credit by memorizing and reciting “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost on Friday, January 31, 2020.
