Today’s bellwork reviewed writing equations, defining variables, and simplifying expressions using the order of operations.

For the remainder of the hour, we continued our discussion on Sect. 1-2: Order of Operations. Students also reviewed for next Tuesday’s quiz over operations on integers. See below for today’s class materials.

Today’s bellwork reviewed simplifying expressions by applying the Order of Operations.

For the remainder of the hour, we reviewed writing mathematical expressions from statements and began discussing Section 1.1 – Variables; writing equations and defining variables from a given situation or table.

Bellwork reviewed evaluating mathematical expressions.

For the remainder of the hour, we went over yesterday’s homework and began reviewing the basic skills needed for Chapter 1; adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers.

There will be a quiz over this material (without a calculator) on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019.

Today was a half day schedule. Students worked on a reflection assignment in class. It was due at the end of the hour. See below for the prompt:
