Good morning 🙂

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. This week we have 2 important events here at Henry Ford. One, is our Second grade parent meeting for Mrs. Herrod, Mrs. Serini, and Mrs. Spencer’s classes. It will be held in Room 203 at 2:00. It will last 30 minutes.

Thursday is Open House 🙂 An exciting evening around here! I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and to have your child show you their new classroom. The time frame is 6:00-7:30.

Your children are settling in and learning our new routines. Many are the same, but since we’re in a different part of the building and learning some new curriculum, some routines are new. They’re doing great! It’s so nice to see them come back from summer break and find their old friends and make new ones 🙂

A note about math homework: please help your child following the parent homework helper that comes home with each sheet. Let them do as much as they understand even if it’s not the entire sheet. My philosophy is no crying/tears over homework. They’re learning and it will come with some work over time if they don’t get it right away.

A big thank you to those who have sent in tissues, hand sanitizer and wipes. Cold season will soon be here and I like to keep things clean.

NWEA testing will begin this week for Second grade. My class will be testing Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and is in school on time.
