This month is March is Reading Month! Each hallway picked a character trait to focus on this month and third grade chose “Cooperative”. We read the story “The Day the Crayons Quit” and will begin writing a persuasive essay about why working cooperatively is better! Students will participate in a bookmark contest, and we have many fun activities this month! Please keep an eye on the calendar that went home to stay up to date with the different activities! Students are also encouraged to be reading and filling out summaries at home. Students that do will be entered in to raffles each week to win prizes, gift cards and at the end of the month a bike! The book fair will also be open this month, and we are looking to plan Bingo for Books! I will let you know when a date is picked! Thanks!

This month we had a family night that was provided by Dearborn Shines. Students were given some healthy snacks, participated in some physical activities and were given some freebies! Thanks for those that came!

We decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Lincoln Park’s Skating Center. Students did a STEM activity and then enjoyed some roller skating! When we came back we designed our bags and passed out some treats! Enjoy break 🙂

As a grade, we rotated room to room to participate in different activities. In our classroom was Minute-to-Win-it Games. Here are some pictures from the fun!

Students had a great time at Legoland for our winter field trip. Thank you again to the chaperones who came with us! Definitely a great field trip spot! Students were able to create stories, and build them out of legos. We also got to go on a few rides and watch a movie!
