Our Freckle class code is “Hankag”.
On Freckle, students will be practicing both math and ELA.
The ELA practice is both fiction and nonfiction passages where students will have to answer comprehension questions after reading a short article. These questions are very similar to questions that students see on NWEA and also will see on M-Step at the end of the year. This website is great practice for the students and it will reinforce the skills we are working on in the classroom. Please encourage your students to take their time and try their best on these assignments! Students will need to provide evidence sentence stems and cite a piece of evidence for their answers. These passages are assigned to them at their level so students should be able to do this practice independently.
The math has two components. The first part is fact practice that should be done daily. This reviews basic facts that students should have memorized. This should take about two minutes for students to complete. No work is needed for these problems. The targeted practice I assign will reinforce skills that we are going over in class or have previously gone over. Students will need to show work in their notebooks to show how they found their answers.
