Dear Family, Friends, and Students:
My name is Mrs. Hammoud and I will be your child’s virtual third grade teacher. This year is going to be an exciting and productive year! Your child and I will be spending a lot of time together online so I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
I have had much experience in the field of education. I have worked as a paraprofessional for the Dearborn Public School District for four years. I also have worked as a first grade teacher at Oakman Elementary, a second grade teacher at Salina Elementary, and a fourth grade teacher at Salina Intermediate. I have taught fourth grade for six years at Henry Ford Elementary which gives me an upper hand in teaching your child what they need to know to succeed for the following years.
As a teacher, it is my goal to see that each child in my virtual classroom receives a quality education, feels special, safe, and important. I believe that it takes a partnership between home and school to ensure the best education for your child. Let’s work as a team to create a positive experience for your child.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email at hammouR@dearbornschools.org. Also, please subscribe to my iBlog at iblog.dearbornschools.org/hammour, you will find upcoming events and school news for now until the new platform is up and running. Again, I look forward to meeting you and your child virtually and making this a successful year for everyone.
This will be a new situation for all of us this year, but I am ready to get the learning started. Here are items you need to know to help your child succeed. This year all Dearborn Public Schools students will be using a platform called Schoology. This will make it easier for all parents and teachers. All assignments, lesson plans, and communication will be given through here. Also, all of our Virtual live lessons will be on Zoom this year. If you would like to download the app, this will be helpful. You will also be able to access this on the Chromebook.
On Monday, August 31 I will be emailing or calling parents to schedule an appointment with you on Zoom. There will be no live teaching the first week of school. This week your child will have independent learning activities that are expected to be completed, we will discuss them the following week. Please, don’t forget to sign up to your child’s school iblog for further information about receiving student resources and materials, technology information and learning expectations. Also, make sure you follow up with your child’s school as to when pick up day and time will be for your child’s materials.
The first day of school is Monday, August 31. This first week of school will be all half days; Monday through Thursday from 8:55 am-11:55 am. We will have no school on Friday, September 4th through Monday, September 7th due to the Labor Day Holiday weekend. Our first full day will start September, Tuesday, 8th.
I am excited to meet and work with each and everyone of you. Together we can create a wonderful learning environment for your child.
Truly Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Hammoud
