Weekly Objectives for May 22nd-May 25th

Reading:

  • RL 4.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a poem.
  • RL 4.5 Explain major differences between dramas and refer to the structural elements of poetry (e.g. verse, rhythm, meter) when writing or speaking about the text.

Math:

  • Draw And Identify Lines And Angles, And Classify Shapes By Properties Of Their Lines And Angles.
  •  Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry.
  • Ability to determine lines of symmetry and finding the correlation between sides and symmetry.
  • Ability to use a variety of geometric shapes and fold along the line of symmetry to show two matching parts.

Science:

Structure and function

  • How do organisms live, grow, respond to their environment, and reproduce?
  • How and why do organisms interact with their environment and what are the effects of these interactions?

Writing:

  • I can demonstrate synthesis of how to organize events into paragraphs by composing a multiple paragraph.
  • I can demonstrate application of building writing stamina by writing during the writer’s workshop.

Social studies:- Market Economy

  • Use fundamental principles and concepts of economics to understand economic activity in a market economy.

Writing: I can demonstrate application of paraphrasing by taking notes using my own words.

  • I can demonstrate analysis of evidence by examining the information and rephrasing it to support my opinion.
  • I can demonstrate application of planning by constructing a graphic organizer using facts and details.

Math objectives:

Standard: 14.3.5 Understand Decimal Notation For Fractions, And Compare Decimal Fractions.

CCSS – GLCE: 14.3.5.1 4.NF.5 Express a fraction with denominator 10 as an equivalent fraction with denominator 100, and use this technique to add two fractions with respective denominators 10 and 100.4 For example, express 3/10 as 30/100, and add 3/10 + 4/100 = 34/100.

Ability to show a fraction with a denominator of 10 as an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100 in order to add the two fractions.

CCSS – GLCE: 14.3.5.2 4.NF.6 Use decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 or 100. For example, rewrite 0.62 as 62/100; describe a length as 0.62 meters; locate 0.62 on a number line diagram.

Social studies:

4 – E1.0.3 Describe how positive and negative incentives influence behavior in a market economy.

4 – E1.0.4 Explain how price affects decisions about purchasing goods and services (substitute goods).

4 – E1.0.5 Explain how specialization and division of labor increase productivity (e.g., assembly line). (H)
