Welcome to 4th Grade–Parent Letter

August 26, 2019

Dear Parents,

I am very pleased to be your child’s teacher this year. It will be an exciting year for my students and I.  They will be experiencing new surroundings and challenges.  It is important to remember that all successes, big or small, are meaningful.  Each child will progress at his or her own rate, developing skills when he or she is ready.

My goal is for each student, is to grow up and to make the world a better place. It is my belief that all children CAN learn and it is my goal as an educator to make that happen. I believe in life-long learning and will share my passion for education with your children.

From the beginning of the year we will be using a planner.  It will be used for homework assignments, respective due dates, and announcements pertaining to classroom and school activities.  It is extremely important to check and sign your child’s planner each day.

The school will provide most of the supplies this year, but if you would like to donate supplies, your generosity is greatly appreciated. The following supplies will be valued: lined paper, copy paper, pencils, dry erase markers, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes. Please understand this is not a required list of supplies, just a list of supplies students may donate to our classroom.

Parents, the 4th grade team will be having our Parent Meeting on Friday, September 4, 2019, at 9:50-10:30 in the Cafeteria.  This is an informational meeting for 4th grade parents.  As we all know, family involvement is a powerful influence on children’s achievement in school, therefore we encourage all parents to attend.   Please be on time.

I look forward to sharing a dynamic and productive year with your child.  During the school year, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child by email: hamidm@dearbornschools.org, I will reply to your email as soon as possible.

I very much look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child, as a learner and an individual.

Your 4th grade teacher,

Mrs. Hamid
