Good Morning Boys and Girls

Happy Wednesday…riddle of the day: What starts with a P, ends with an E and has thousands of letters?

One of my favorite stories: “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0e60UOHskk

Where the Wild Things Are, is about a boy his name is Max. Max, a wild and naughty boy, is sent to bed without his supper by his exhausted mother. In his room, he imagines sailing far away to a land of Wild Things. Instead of eating him, the Wild Things make Max their king.

Happy Tuesday…riddle of the day: How many letters are there in the English alphabet?

One of my favorite stories:  CHRYSANTHEMUM by Kevin Henkes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm0ANoid8Aw

In this story Chrysanthemum is a girl mouse with a unique name. The theme of the story is to learn to love yourself no matter what others may think. This is shown throughout the story. In the beginning, Chrysanthemum loves her name and thinks it’s perfect. She then goes to school and kids there make fun of it and say it’s too long and too different because it is a kind of flower. So listen to the story and see what happens to Chrysanthemum.

Happy Monday…riddle of the day:

They have not flesh, nor feathers, nor scales, nor bone. Yet they have fingers and thumbs of their own. What are they?

One of my favorite stories: Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day / Judith Viorst ; illustrated by Ray Cruz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWLYGbYOoRs

From the moment Alexander wakes up, everything goes wrong! He wakes up with gum in his hair, fights with his friends, and has to eat lima beans for dinner. At the end of his rough day, Alexander learns some days are just like that. All kids experience this type of day, and will be glad to find they are not alone!

Happy Saturday….. riddle of the day: What belongs to you, but other people use it more than you?

One of my favorite stories: The Ugly Duckling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyrmcD8Yml0. “The Ugly Duckling” is a fairy tale with the moral lesson for people to accept themselves for who they truly are. It tells the story of a newly hatched duckling that is widely rejected and abused by others in the animal kingdom for not looking like the other ducks.
