Next week, our class will have a math test. Today we began reviewing past lessons. On Monday we will work on Lesson 8 and then have the test either Tuesday or Wednesday. No homework in math today. Have a nice weekend.
Zearn
I added Zearn to the M-F folders in Math. Please have your child click the link to complete lessons in Zearn. We are on Module 1 Lesson 7. Click the box with an arrow coming out of it if the link says it won’t connect. It will then. I emailed everyone username and password for Zearn last week. Let me know if you cannot find it. Thanks
Reorganizing Courses in Schoology
Today I am making folders for each day of the week in each of the 4 courses= Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies. I moved lessons and videos into these folders. I also made a folder for last week’s work. Once the week is over and I post new items for each day, I will move the old lessons into the folder titled “last week’s work”. Hope that makes since and is easy to navigate Schoology.
Daily Schedule-Update
Assignments for 9-15-20, Friday and Specials
I posted an assignment for the Response Journal and in Lesson 5 in Math today. I did not post anything for Social Studies. We are not done with the lesson.
Friday is a half day. No work after 12 noon. I would also like to invite students to bring a show and tell item to the 8:55 Zoom meeting. Students like to show toys during lessons which is not an appropriate time for that so on Fridays, we will do Show and Tell at our morning Zoom. Thank you.
Specials- Your child “should” (we are still working on that) have a course for each of the Specials- Art, Music, Gym(PE) and Media. Please visit specials from 1-1:54. Thanks
Razkids
I sent all of you the username and password for Razkids. Please let your child explore this site. I will be assigning stories to read and questions to answer in the near future. Have fun!!
Daily Schedule
Zoom times for Monday, 9-14-20
Reading 8:55
Math 10:30
Sci/SS 12:25
Work that I posted this past Friday will be due on Tuesday. This includes lesson 3 in Math and a Response Journal in Reading. Also 2 book reports were due this past Friday as well.
What to Bring for a Learning Lab (Testing):
Chromebook, mouse, headphones, mask and something to read when finished with testing.
Learning Labs- Building Safety Procedures!
Building Safety Procedures for Learning Labs:
- Parents will complete the Parent Commitment Form the first time they drop off their child for a Learning Lab.
- This commitment will only be signed once and states that parents will complete all of the screening criteria in the Student Screening Checklist each time their child attends a Learning Lab.
- Parents will need to complete a sign-in and sign-out sheet each time their child comes into the building. This is to provide contact-trace information.
- Parents will not be allowed in the building when dropping off their child. This is to minimize the amount of people throughout the building and to maintain the practice of social distancing.
- Facial covers are required by all that enter the building, this applies to staff, teachers, parents, and students.
Dropping- off and picking up your student to Learning Labs:
- Your child’s teacher will meet you at the doors opposite of the playground.
- Parents will sign-in on the form provided by the teacher.
- The teacher will escort your child to the Learning Lab.
- The teacher will escort your child to the doors opposite of the playground when the Learning Lab is complete.
- You will again be provided with a sign-out form by the teacher.
Learning Lab Guidelines:
- It is asked that you have your child use the bathroom before coming to his/her Learning Lab. This will help maintain sanitization, social distancing, and accurate contact tracing information.
- Only bring what your child’s teacher has requested to the Learning Lab. Teachers will specify what they would like their students to bring before each Learning Lab.
- No water bottles or snacks will be permitted during Learning Labs. This ensures that face coverings will be maintained throughout the Learning Lab time.
- Please drop-off and pick-up your child on time for their scheduled Learning Lab. Learning Labs start and end at a specific time to ensure that the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing takes place.
As always, we are continually evaluating the situation and may make changes as determined by District and Health Department recommendations.
Thank you for your on-going support,
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fournier
