Please go to Schoology and click on my Reading Course. Then click on Benchmarkuniverseediting. This will automatically add your child to my roster. I will be assigning Reading activities from here as we move forward. Thank you.

Please come to the school by Friday if you have not received the Plants and Animals in their Habitat book for next week’s reading. I sent it home with those that came to testing this week but I have missed a few of you. The books are in the office. Ring the bell and tell them you are picking up a 2nd grade book. I was hoping to Zoom and do the math together but that didn’t work so well. Thanks for trying with me. If you cannot get to the test, let me know. Some have logged in with Google choice instead of typing the username and password and that has seemed to work better. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I would like to have everyone take the test with me through Zoom at 10:30am. We have not tried this yet so I’ll need some help from parents. If you could set up a separate tab from Zoom so your child can have access to the test and still be on Zoom with me. So on that tab have your child go to Schoology, then math, then Wednesday Folder, the steps are as follows:

• Link to digital.greatminds.org – you can put the link in your Schoology course and students will log in with google or it can also be accessed through the Clever In Sync app
• Click on To Do tab. You should see the assessment.
• Click start
• When finished click review then submit/finish

My plan is to walk through the questions with the students. If this doesn’t work than I’ll end zoom and students can do the test on their own.

The test is online. No printing needed.

Dear Parents/Guardians, 

Dearborn Public Schools is now using Schoology, an integrated learning management solution that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication.  Schoology enables our students, parents, and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. 

With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, write academic blogs, and more. As a parent, you will be able to view your child’s activity within the platform. 

Parents will be able to see the work that is being assigned to their children. Schoology will also be used to communicate important information from the School. Schoology can be used on the web or via the Schoology App for iOS or Android.

Grades will still be available in ParentConnect through MiStar. 

You will be receiving an email with your login information. These emails will be sent to parent email addresses on file via the Emergency Information Forms. 

Schoology also has a Parent Guide available to support you and your questions. One of the most important topics is Parent Notifications. You can choose how and how often you are notified by Schoology. You may also find the Parent Overview Video useful.

Raz Kids has been asking for the teacher’s username. It is hallhowe. You can also find the username on the card I sent last or the week before last. Your child’s username is his/her’s first name and the password is a picture of an object such as a boat or cat or car, etc. Check the card I sent. It has all the information. If you did not get the email with the card, let me know and I’ll send it again. Thank you.

Wifi for my computer is not working well. It is slow to let people into the SS meeting today. Please do not call the office. They cannot help. Just email me that your child couldn’t get in and I will not mark them absent. Thank you.

Towards the end of this coming week, we will start Module 2 in math. This Module covers measurement. We will need just a few supplies. Your children will need a ruler with inches and centimeters on it. They also need some centimeter cubes. I will send paper ones to be cut and used unless you have centimeter cubes at your house. They are small cubes to cut so you may need to assist in the cutting. Later in the Module, your child will need small and large paperclips, 1 straw and some string.
