We will be taking the NWEA Reading Test this Thursday, May 19.

Thank you so much for all the lovely flowers, cards and gifts that you and your child gave me during Teacher’s Appreciation week. Also, thank you to the PTA for the gift and for organizing this fantastic week. The students said such nice and wonderful words on the cards they made me. It made me feel very appreciated and it brightened my week. Thank you again!

Good evening! Wanted to let everyone know that tomorrow’s Color Run is messy. If you are picking up your child after school you may want to bring some towels to lay on the seat of your vehicle. Also, students will be bringing out all their things to go home when we come outside for the run. Students will not be allowed back into the building except for those going to Kid’s Club or Music . For those going to Kid’s Club you may want to send a change of clothing. Thank you.

Tomorrow, May 11 is a Late Start.

On Wednesday, June 8th we will be going on another field trip with K/1 to the Detroit Zoo. We will go from 10am to 3pm. $9 per student, $9per adult and $8 for parking. Parents have to attend and drive their child. Memberships are not accepted for School Groups-sorry. Everyone that is going will need to pay cash to me by May 23. We have to pay early. The zoo insists on early payments. Yellow permission slips went home today. Thank you.

This Thursday, May 12 is the Color Run fundraiser. Please have your child return the permission slip so he/she can attend. Please also fill out the pledge form too. Thank you.

Those parents that signed up to chaperone include: Bilal’s parent, Joshua’s parent, Eisley’s parent, Julia’s parent, Amir L’s parent, Hassan’s parent, Jude’s parent, Lincoln’s parent, Amir Y’s parent. Please let me know if this changes. Thank you.

Additional Notes: Shoes worn must be closed toe- no sandals or flip flops. Everyone must wear masks on the bus, inside the building and on the trails. Parking is $2.00 per hour.

Please no siblings on the field trip. Remember to pack a lunch for your child and yourself if you are chaperoning. Chaperones can ride on the bus with us or drive yourself. Keep in mind there is a parking fee. The weather looks good for tomorrow! Wear comfortable shoes. We will be inside for a bit and then walking on the trails outside. Chaperones please be here by 9am. Let the office know you are here and then check in with me in the classroom. Let me know if you are riding the bus or driving yourself. I will then give you a paper with the children’s names you are responsible for and then you can wait in the cafeteria until the bus arrives. Our program at the Botanical Gardens begins at 10am.
