Parent Meeting: Safe Return to School

We are focusing on subtraction with unbundling. This task is one of the hardest to learn for 2nd grade. Practice, practice! The big, Module 4 test will be the following week. Catch up in your book or Zearn if you are behind. Today we worked on Lesson 28.
So the document I shared earlier with you has been acting very odd. The group names switched. Try using a computer instead of your phone when viewing. It was mixed up on my phone but is fine on the computer. I really do not want to get all of you confused so… Group A is the first half of the class ending with Zain. It is peach colored. Group B is from Lianna to Addie. It is blue colored. I hope that helps. Please email me if I created more confusion. Please also look back at your inbox from February 2. I shared a formal letter from Mrs. Fournier and I that has the groups on them. Thanks!

I sent each parent a letter about which group your child is in. Check your emails! I sent it back on February 1. I am posting this link as well for you to see the groups. Group A attends school on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:40-2:20. Group B attends school Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:40-2:20. Wednesdays we will zoom from home. On the days that your child does not attend in person school, I will zoom with them from 8:30- 9:20 ish and assign asynchronous work to be completed at home.

Tomorrow is a half day for students. The morning will be Asynchronous work. No zooms. Please check Schoology in the morning for assignments. Wednesday will be a normal zoom day with zoom learning labs in the afternoon. Thursday will be zooms in the morning and have in person learning labs starting at 2. Red and Orange groups are first. See previous post for exact days and times. Friday will be zooms in the morning with in person labs in the afternoon. The Yellow group is planned for this day. Spelling Test is on Friday as well. I will update the schedule on schoology in the morning.

In these Learning Labs, we will discuss classroom rules, procedures, covid safety,etc. We will also do some reading and a small art project.

This has been quite a school year! I am so happy to be a part of this supportive community!
Over the summer, I got married! My husband and I got to celebrate our marriage on a beautiful day in July!
I have recently just completed the process in changing my last name. I am now Sarah Verrier (pronounced very-er). I wanted to let you know of the change since I communicate regularly with our community.

Today students work independently on assignments. I put an assignment for Raz Kids, Response Journal and Writing in the Thursday Folder for Reading. I also put a Math assignment in the Thursday Folder for Math. There is a video to watch for math. Go through Great Minds. Have a wonderful, long weekend and Happy Valentine’s Day!
