Tomorrow is an online school day. Class will be held on zoom. I posted the schedule to my blog yesterday and it is on Schoology as well. Students will be expected to attend 2 zooms tomorrow. For both zooms, your child will need paper and a pencil. I am also sending home Lesson 20 in math since tomorrow’s math zoom will be on lesson 20. Your child can return the work on Wednesday. Students will be bringing home a science page to complete asynchronously. That can be returned on Wednesday as well. Thank you.

Asynchronous Work for the rest of School.

On Monday I will be assigning Lesson 17 and 18 for homework for math so your can child start this weekend if he/she wants to. For both the lessons, do half of the problems. So even problems or odd problems. Hope that makes sense. Thank you.

March is Reading Month activities will begin one day early on Monday, February 28. The whole school will be reading the Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and we will watch the movie at the end of the month. We will be reading the book in class every day. I will blog how far we have reached in the book weekly on my blog because we have an activity Bingo Board for you and your child to do at home. Please post a picture of your work on our school Padlet. See handout for the website. We are also asking your child to complete a Reading Log for the month. It is very similar to the Book-it log. Please have your child read books for 20 minutes each night. Then color in a yellow brick on the “Road to Emerald City” reading log page. Bring the log into school on Mondays. Prizes will be awarded.

Book Swap– Please send in a gently used book your child does not want anymore. We will wrap them and the students can choose a new book to take home. Have these books in by March 4.

Guest Readers- We are inviting parents to come to school and read to the class. We will do this on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March. The dates are March 1, 2, 8, 9,15, 16, 22 and 23. We will do this at 3:00pm on those days. Plan on reading a book for about 15 minutes. Your child can help you pick a book from your home or the library, but be sure it is age appropriate. No snacks or treats please. Your reading is the treat! Email me the day you would like to read. Slots are limited so first come, first serve.
