Wednesday, 4-22-20

OFFICE HOURS: for Wednesday and Thursday.

  1. NOTE: Happy RAMADAN! All students welcome! I am volunteering an extra set of late OFFICE HOURS. I will see how it goes next week. Office Hours: 7:30 PM – 9:00 pm. I will be watching for emails during that time. I encourage you to use the Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs but this if something comes up and you need more help. If this becomes too difficult to manage on my part, I might have to stop it. We will give it a try next week on Weds. April 29th. This will only be a “trial” run.
  2. CHECK-INs will NOT be allowed during this time. The administration are running counts for Monday and Tuesday mandatory check-ins. Any students who fail to check in, will be getting a phone call.
  3. Note: DO NOT interfere in other student classroom hangouts or meets. Administration and our school police officer will be getting involved.

We will be using google forms to do your weekly assignments.

The google form is all set up and sent to you.

NOTE: You must finish each section. If not, you will lose the work. Therefore, make sure you have roughly a half hour or so to do each section.

The first week for check-in will be a form to fill out on your google classroom. ALSO: we are using GOOGLE MEET. The directions are on the next iblog post for today with the times. Today 1, 2, 3 hours meet with me.

Tomorrow: 4 & 6 hours. :0)

Your answers will not be sent back because we do not want to encourage students sending answers to each other.

To Parents and Students,

We have just received guidance on how we will be running the rest of the school year. We will be starting on Monday, April 20th. This is the format:

  1. Work will be assigned by NOON (12 o’clock) EVERY Sunday.
  2. Students earn credit two times per week.
  3. First: during the week they have to check into google classroom and fill out the attendance form for points. (or attend the google hangout) I will keep you posted. We are starting with google classroom for week #1.
  4. Second: students will be assigned a set of work to complete by 10:00 am Friday of that very same week.
  5. Weekly work MUST be turned in EACH Friday by 10:00 am. This gives us time to grade and record who has participated for the week. If you do not, you will not earn credit. Our interventionist team will be contacting students who are not “meeting” with us in google classroom on Monday or Tuesday (or google hangouts if we go that method) and do not turn their work in.
  6. Seniors are finished on May 21. The rest of students go until the end of the year.
  7. ANY PARENT can email me at anytime at: hal@dearbornschools.org. If you need to talk to me, we can arrange a google hangout or phone call.
  8. WE ARE SUSPENDING OUR WORK ON IMPERIALISM TODAY. Students have Weds-Friday of this week to make it up. If you do not, no credit. Those that are finished, you have no homework.
  9. Departments are meeting, virtually, to create the same “work packet” for the future weeks. Teachers are spending today and the rest of the week to start a cohesive / team learning plan.
