Planners
Parents,
Please make sure to check your child’s planner for green “Missing Homework” stamps. We have had quite a few missing assignments lately. Those students with green stamps need to have their planners signed. Thank you!
Happy Wednesday!
Thank you to Hamza and Mohsen for using their Gwizdz Bucks to purchase a mustache party!
Math-A-Thon
Our next Math-A-Thon will take place on December 17th. 5th graders will be tested on addition, subtraction and multiplication facts. They are expected to complete 50 problems in 2 minutes. Using XtraMath daily will help support learning of the facts.
Unit 5 Math Test
Good morning! Our Unit 5 math test is scheduled for December 19. This is a difficult math unit, so I’m giving you as much notice as possible about the test. There will NOT be a study guide, however, I will tell you this: if 5th graders practice on Study Island for 30 minutes per night, they will have all the tools necessary to pass their test on the 19th. The following topics are going to be covered on the test, and they can all be found under the 5th Grade Math Common Core tab.
- Comparing Decimals
- Rounding Decimals
- Multiply/Divide Decimals
- Add/Subtract Fractions
- Division with Fractions
- Problem Solving with Fractions
Practicing the games, flashcards and taking practice tests will help 5th graders prepare for the test. Start today! 🙂
