Field Trip
We will be attending a field trip on Tuesday, April 17th. We will be traveling to Henry Ford Community College to visit the planetarium and walk the solar system walk. Permission slips are due on Tuesday, and the trip is free! Special thanks to Zainab’s brother, Mohammad, for setting up our field trip. 🙂

Oreo Moon Phases
For her last science lesson, Mrs. Hussein introduced moon phases, and the students produced moon phases made out of Oreo cookies. Thanks for the sweet treat, Mrs. Hussein!
Canine Visitors
Mrs. Gorman brought her two Cavalier King Charles dogs in for a lesson on Wednesday. Students learned about the care and keeping of the dogs, as well as information on the breed itself. PROTEST!
The 5th graders learned about colonial protests in Social Studies with Mrs. Simmons. Then they took their show on the road! Here are pictures of our protestors protesting the Proclamation of 1773, the Stamp Act, the tax on tea and the closing of Boston Harbor.
Solar System!
Mrs. Hussein has just begun our new science unit, the solar system. Today she introduced how day and night are observed on Earth in relationship to the sun. We used some of our new science materials purchased by Ms. Awada and donated by our fabulous parents!
