ACCESS ASAP and SAFE, two of our partners in the Healthy Living Initiative are partnering with the Islamic Center of America and Hype Athletics to sponsor a community forum for families and their loved ones.  This forum will focus on valuable information about addiction, recovery and support resources. It will be held this Saturday, March 17th @ 9am – 1pm.  Lunch will be provided.

TOURS OF MICHAEL BERRY CENTER OPEN FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

THE MICHAEL BERRY CENTER WILL BE OPEN TO STUDENTS IN GRADES 8-11 (AND THEIR PARENTS) FOR TOURS DURING HIGH SCHOOL PARENT CONFERENCES FROM 4PM TO 7PM ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21ST, 2018.

Parents and students can visit MBCC to explore their CTE offerings, tour the building, meet the staff and interact with current students and learn more about their programs in:
  • Culinary Arts
  • Design Technology and Computers
  • Health Sciences
  • Business–Accounting, Marketing, Management and Technology

CAREER CRUISING

Woodworth counselors are currently working with all 7th & 8th grade students on career exploration thru a website called Career Cruising.  Over the next few months counselors are pushing into classrooms to present career information and to work with students to explore career opportunities and develop student EDP’s (Educational Development Plan).

Fordson High School visitation Feb. 8th

Fordson administration and 9th grade staff will be coming to Woodworth on Thursday, Feb. 8th to speak to our 8th graders regarding their transition to high school.  Parents are welcome.  The presentation will take place in the cafeteria at 9:45.

New Information for Henry Ford Early College Applicants

Please check your school email on a regular basis for ongoing  information regarding your application to Henry Ford Early College.  ALL IMPORTANT INFORMATION and communications from the Early College will be sent to your school e-mail.  Resent information has been sent to your e-mail regarding submission of a handwritten essay.  Please complete the hand written essay and bring it to your Woodworth counselor to be forwarded to the Early College.

HENRY FORD EARLY COLLEGE APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN

The application for HFEC Health and Manufacturing is now open. Students may apply for one or both schools. In order to make the application process smoother and simpler, a Google form was created and sent to every 8th grader in the district, using their school email address. Students, please check your district email for the application and  be sure to indicate the names of both your math and science teachers on the application form.

DCMST Applications and Parent Meeting

The DCMST is now taking online applications from any 8th GRADE ADVANCE MATH students that are interested in applying to their program.
There will be an informational meeting for parents of current 8th grade students that are interested in attending the DCMST on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the MBCC Lecture Hall.
