Wiard’s Orchard

Dear Families,
We are all set for our field trip to Wiard’s Orchard on Friday!  Please be sure to send your child a sack lunch with disposable drink to school.  (No glass items please.) As of now, the weather is looking very favorable! Please have your child dress warmly with layers and comfortable walking shoes.  We ask that the students do not visit the haunted house. Also, when exploring the corn maze please tell your child to stay close his/her adult chaperone. Let’s be safe and have fun!

Wiard’s Orchard Field Trip will include:

One small pumpkin

An apple

Cider and donut

Activities:  Corn Queen Combine Playground, The Spine Chilling MindShaft, Fort Wiard Miniature Golf, Animal Petting Farm, Old West Wagon Rides, Old West Swings, Lil Folks Playground, Straw Mountain Play Area, Captain Wiard’s Playground, Corn Maze, Valley View Mountain Slides, The Learning Barn and Pappy Apple Play Area.

11:45 a.m. dismissal

Last year Snow implemented Playworks, a program that emphasizes building life-skills through the kind of play kids are already wired to do! Our school is assigned a coach who organizes fun games at recess and equips students to be leaders among their peers. And it’s all built around FUN! Playworks is in need of recess equipment this year! Simple items like playground balls, jump ropes, and soccer/basketballs go a long way. If you would like to donate items or money, the PTA is doing a drive to contribute to our children’s recess! Bring items to your teacher or the office. Dear Parents,                                                              Oct. 4, 2019

I want to thank you for a great start to the year!  Your support has been wonderful! I am already beginning to see a lot of growth in my students’ academics and behavior.  Today we celebrated our success with a pizza party. Keep up the great work boys and girls!

Unfortunately, beginning October 11th,  I will have to be out for a medical leave.  I want to assure everyone that I am fine, and hopefully, I will be able to return in six weeks.

During my absence, Ms. Sahar Naim, will be my substitute teacher.  In addition, Mrs. Alcodray and many Snow staff members will be checking in to ensure that our school days run smoothly.

Dear Snow Families,

A reminder about our Read at Home Plan.  Every Snow student should go home with “Good Fit” Books daily! “Good fit” books are books that are not too hard and not too easy.  The expectation is that students improve their reading skills and develop a love for reading.

Snow School Read at Home Plan

1. Reading Book Bags will go home daily with “Good Fit” Books
2. Students must read daily:

• Grades K-1 15+ minutes daily
• Grade  2 20+ minutes daily
• Grades 2-5 30+ minutes daily

1. Reading Logs- Signed daily by parents and        checked by teachers.
2. iReady (Students can login through CLEVER on Dearborn Schools home page.  Please contact Mrs. Bush bushm@dearbornschools.org for assistance if needed.
