Halloween & my absences

Good evening,

Halloween is approaching quickly.  On Tuesday, October 31st, students may wear costumes to school if they choose.  Please do not send children in with masks or toy weapons.  We will have a small party at the end of the day consisting of a movie and snack.  I will post a sign-up on Thursday if you’d like to donate a snack or paper product.  I will not be needing any parent volunteers.

I will be out of the building on tomorrow and Wednesday.  If there are any concerns, please let Mrs. Alcodray, our principal, know in the office.  (313)827-6250.

Thank you! 🙂

Book Fair Monday

Our class will be visiting the school book fair on Monday, October 23rd.   If you’d like your child to shop, please send cash on Monday.  Thank you for supporting our Snow PTA and your child’s reading skill development.

Picture Day Today

Good Morning!

Today is picture day.  If you would like to purchase school pictures, please send back form today.  All students will be photographed for the yearbook as well.  Have a great day!

FALL NWEA SCORES

Good afternoon families,

I’m sending home your child’s NWEA report today.  It shows your child’s RIT score for the subjects of math, reading, science and language.  Please look at the data and let me know if you have any questions.

Reading Reminder from Mrs. Alcodray :)

Dear Snow Families,

Snow School is launching a Read at Home Plan.  With our new Book Room, every Snow student will go home with “Good Fit” Books daily! “Good fit” books are books that are not too hard and not too easy.  The expectation is that students improve their reading skills and develop a love for reading.

Snow School Read at Home Plan

  • Reading Book Bags will go home daily with “Good Fit” Books
  • Students must read daily:
  • Grades (K-1) 15+ minutes daily
  • Grades (2-5) 30+ minutes daily
  • Reading Logs- Signed daily by parents and   checked by teachers.
  • MobyMax (Students can login through CLEVER on Dearborn Schools home page.  Please contact Mrs. Bush bushm@dearbornschools.org for assistance if needed.

Forgotten Book Bags Tonight & Math Test Tomorrow

We were in a rush after gym at the end of our day today.  Some students forgot to bring home their book bags.  They may read books from home or go on MobyMax.  The most important thing to do tonight is study for tomorrow’s math and spelling tests.  A study guide came home tonight for math.  Thank you for your cooperation!

Box Tops

We need your box tops!  Look on your boxes at home, cut out box tops, and bring them to school!  We are having a school-wide competition.  Box tops help us to earn supplies for our school.  The class who brings the most box tops in will win a popcorn party! 🙂
