Dear Parents,

We will be having a small Halloween party at the end of the day on Monday, October 31st.  Students may wear costumes to school if they choose.  Please do not send masks or weapons.  Also, fake blood isn’t allowed.  If you would like to come and lead a game or activity, you are more than welcome!  The students will be happy to have you visit.  Please refrain from bringing in younger siblings due to the small size of our classroom and safety of everyone.

I will have a sign up for treats and snacks that I will carry outside when I pick up and drop off the students on the black top each day.  If you are unable to drop off or pick up your child, but would like to sign up to send in a treat, please email your request to me at:

Our wonderful PTA has scheduled the Scholastic Book Fair to visit our school.  There will be a Family Halloween Night on Tuesday, October 25th 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Wear a costume and join the fun!  Shop at the book fair, eat some treats & play some games!

Our class will be visiting the school book fair on Wednesday, October 26 11:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.  If you are a parent who would like to come and help us shop, please join us!  We would love to have your help!  Simply check in at the office at 11:25 a.m. and meet us at the book fair.

Flyers on this event will come home with your child tomorrow.

REMINDER!
Our Box Tops Contest ends tomorrow! The class that brings in the most box tops will get a pizza party!  Remember, each box top is worth 1 point. Any child that brings their box tops clipped and bagged into sets of 50, will automatically receive an extra 10 points per bag for their class. It’s a fun, easy way to earn money for the school. Thank you!

Mrs. Kearney sent home a field trip permission slip home today with the first graders.  My first graders will be traveling by bus with Mrs. Kearney and Mrs. Slater.  Parent chaperones are welcome to meet at the farm.  Younger siblings are not allowed to attend.

Hello!

1st and 2nd grade should study and review their math study guides and spelling words for the tests tomorrow.  Also, please remember to read 20 minutes and record it into student reading logs.  Book bags are due tomorrow.  Thank you.

Both first and second grade have finished unit 1 in their corresponding grades of the Common Core Math.  Tests will be given on Friday.  A study guide is coming home this evening.   Please go over the study guide with your child and return it to school tomorrow.  We will go over it in class tomorrow and I will send it home again on Thursday to study for Friday’s test.  Please let me know of any questions that you may have.  Have a nice evening.
