The students are testing for the next two weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. They can bring a quick and simple snack for each test day. We will take a break during each test.

Animal Project – due on Friday, May 12

Create an animal with adaptations that help it to survive in its habitat.  Your project must have the following items:

1. Paragraph or more to describe your animal and how its physical traits help it survive in its habitat
2. Paragraph describing the habitat of your animal
3. Food chain or web that your animal is a part of
4. A drawing/picture of your animal

Your project may be completed on a poster, google docs, google slides, or handwritten.

Market Day is this Friday, May 5. Please make sure your child has their products ready for their business. They have filled out their loan applications, been approved for their loan, received their business license, and they are now ready to hang out their signs to sell the products. We are looking forward to you stopping by on Market Day.

We will have the ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:30 and then the shopping will begin, until 3:00. Hopefully you can drop by for a few minutes because they are excited.

There is still a need for parents to help out with the PBIS carnival on Wednesday. In order to  make it a success we need your help. Please consider volunteering for this event. (see the letter below)

Next Wednesday, April 26th, we will be hosting our second annual HAIGH CARNIVAL for our April PBIS celebration. Students who have maintained positive behavior will have the opportunity to attend the carnival and play some awesome games and even win some prizes!

However, the event can only be a success with your help and donations. Below is a list of items that we are in need of for our celebration. If you are able to contribute or donate in any way, it would be GREATLY appreciated. You can turn in all donations to your child’s teacher.

We are asking that donations be turned in by Monday, April 24th.

• Empty cardboard boxes (all sizes and shapes needed)

• Hershey’s Kisses

• Washable tattoos

• DumDum suckers

• Fake frogs (rubber/silicone)

• Solo cups

• Cotton Candy buckets (Wal-Mart?)
  

This is a whole school event, so we will need as many donations as possible (we have almost 500 students!).

We are also in need of volunteers to help run stations at the carnival. If you are able to volunteer your time, it would also be appreciated. The time slots are as follows:

A.M. session – 8:50-11:30                          P.M. session – 1:30-3:15

We need 7 A.M. volunteers and 7 P.M. volunteers. If you are able to volunteer, please e-mail Ms. Otto at ottoc@dearbornschools.org to sign-up
