We met our buddies for the first time this week. Our class helped them make their Halloween bags, along with making one for ourselves. The students enjoyed their buddy time.

Social Studies Unit 2 Test – Map Skills- Friday, Oct. 26

• Why do we call regions by certain names? Corn Belt, Rust Belt, Great Lakes Regions
• 5 Regions of the U.S. (Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, West, Midwest)
• Common traits for a region

Examples – Midwest has the Great Lakes, farming, steel industry, iron ore, fruit and 4 seasons.

Southwest has deserts, mountains, dry and hot summers, rivers and plateaus.

In their Social Studies notebooks they have maps, charts, and writings. They also did a comparison piece on Google slides or documents about the Southwest and Great Lakes Regions.

Check out your student’s blog. Each student created their own blog for 4th grade. It can only be viewed by someone within the Dearborn Schools email addresses. They can show you their blog by logging on the student blog site. Their first post was their Fall Goals. Each student is encouraged to showcase their writing, events around school, events related to school, or other appropriate posts. Students can personalize their blog with pictures and color. Please remember you must be logged on with a school district email to be able to see this blog.

The math test has been changed to Monday, October 22. They will bring home a study guide.
