Homework/Announcements

Sept. 9 – 13

Homework and Announcements for the week:

Math: This week we are working on rounding numbers and comparing numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to. Math Quiz Monday will happen every Monday. I want to clarify that the study materials for these quizzes will be their Learn Book and their homework from their Succeed Books. There will be no study guides for future quizzes, but there will be study guides for Mid-Module Tests and End-Module Tests.

** MATH HOMEWORK EXPECTATION: Students will have homework during the week (1 to 2 problems a night), plus they will need to finish 2 Lessons a week on Zearn. All students should have their login information for Zearn in the front of their planner. Students will have a little time to do Zearn at school, but this can be mostly done at home. The goal is for students to learn how to manage their time with their homework throughout the week. Students can feel free to do more lessons throughout the week, but I am only requiring two lessons per week on Zearn** (Zearn does work on Ipads and computers. If you do not have one, please contact me.)

Spelling:  Spelling will be online this year. Students will do spelling activities in school every day for at least 10 minutes. Students can access the spelling activities online at home. For the most part, students should be studying these words at home everyday.

Reading: 20 minutes – Reading logs are due on September 30!

Students will take their first quiz on Monday, September 9th. Tomorrow we are working in centers to cover each skill for the quiz. The worksheets they take home tomorrow will be used as a study guide for the quiz.

Community Activity

We worked together as a team to stack the cups without using our hands. They were given 6 cups, 4 paper clips, and 1 rubber band. The idea was to plan, communicate, and try all the ideas suggested in their group.
