Work for May 4 – 8

May 4th to 8th

Good Morning 4th Grade Families! 

This week we included a few tools that can help you stay on track of your student’s school work. We have added suggested work time for each day per subject and office hours for communication. We suggest you save this post as a reference for this week.

Also, to make things easier, here is a simple checklist for all the assignments due by Sunday, May 10th.

Homework and Announcements for the week:

No More Google Meet Sessions! We are no longer allowed to use Google Meets as a Communication Tool for the Students. Please be patient as the district is trying to find the safest way to live chat with our students. 

Office Hours

Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:35 am to 3:35 pm All 4th Grade Teachers can answer questions via email, class dojo, or blog 

Homework

(20 minutes) Math: This is our last week of  Module 6: Decimals. Students will have homework every night with an exit ticket given on Friday. We will do Lessons 13-16 this week. Please be sure to do the Zearn lessons assigned below. This will help students learn the content that I will be teaching.

If you do not have a printer, please do math problems on a piece of paper or in a notebook.

(20 minutes) Reading We will have 1 article a week assigned on Google Classroom. The expectation is to read and answer the questions by the end of the week. The articles will be posted on Monday. Remember to spend time on iReady, too. 

Reading – only 1 assignment

  1. Cat or Dog – Read the article and then write your paragraph on which would make a better pet. Make sure you follow the directions and use evidence from the article.

(20 minutes) Writing Prompt

Please submit your COVID 19 Journal TODAY! Then, you can respond to the weekly Writing Prompt on Google Classroom. This one is a letter or a poem to your mom for Mother’s Day. Tell her why you think she is special.

(20 minutes) Science on Tuesday:

Read the article that is linked on Google Classroom: Tuesday Science – How Can Some Animals See in the Dark. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE ASSIGNMENT. When you are done with the video do the assignment on the Google document. Write on that attachment and then submit. I will grade it after I receive it. 

 (20 minutes) Social Studies on Wednesday:

There will be a lesson posted each Wednesday for Social Studies on Google Classroom. This week’s lesson is a Readworks article. Please read a couple of the articles and then write about a favorite family meal on the attached document and submit it.

(20 minutes) Fun Activity on Seesaw

Name Sign – Check on the new activity to create your name sign using any objects you can find to spell out your name. Listen to the directions and check out the example.

If you are from Ms. Cronin’s class please use these directions:

  1. Go to app.seesaw.me
  2. Choose “I’m a Student”
  3. Type in the code: LNPZ DEBV. This code expires on April 23, 2020
  4. Finish creating your account using your school Google account 

If you are from Ms. Vuichard or Mrs. Greco’s Class use these directions:

  1. Go to app.seesaw.me
  2. Choose “I’m a Student”
  3. Sign in using your school Google account Click on your profile icon on the top left
  4. Find the Assignment “Share a joke or riddle” and read the directions

(20 minutes for each subject) Art/Music/Technology: Art, Music, Technology assignments will be given through google classroom. 

Steps to Get to the Art Google Classroom

  1. Click: Classroom.google.com 
  2. Press the plus sign in the upper right hand corner.
  3. It will now ask you for a class code. Please pick your class’s code below.
