This week, M-Step testing will continue tomorrow. Be sure that your child has a good breakfast and a good night’s sleep.
This week classes will only be held through Thursday, no school on Friday! Also, Spring pictures will be taken on Thursday. If you would like your child to have them take, be sure to send in the exact amount.
Homework
Spelling– Write your words 2 times each in cursive on paper. Sign and correct your test.
Math– Succeed pg. 145
Social Studies– Study your new states and capitals:
Florida- Tallahassee
Georgia- Atlanta
South Carolina- Columbia
North Carolina- Raleigh
Virginia- Richmond
West Virginia- Charleston
Read your pledge minutes and write in your log.
This Week’s Objectives
Literacy
-The students will continue reading and focusing on contractions and prepositions. We will also be looking at Greek and Latin affixes.
Writing
– The students will continue practicing for the M-Step using the R.A.C.E.R. method. Then we will begin writing a narrative.
Science
-The students will finish looking at what causes nighttime and daytime. Then they will look at shadows and what creates them. Finally, graphing their length at various times of the day.
Social Studies
– The students will continue looking at some of the settlements in the colonies and then comparing them. Afterwards, we will study the French and Indian War.
Math
-The students will work on the measurement word problems with whole number and decimal multiplication by using fraction and decimal multiplication to express equivalent measurements. Then we will revisit division.
