Monday, March 25th

The weather is still quite chilly!  Please be sure that your child is dressed properly.

This Thursday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m., there will be a parent meeting about M-Step.  All parents are expected to attend!

The last 5 days before Spring Break and the wrap up of March is Reading Month!

Homework

Spelling– Write your words 2 times each in cursive on paper.

Social Studies-Study your new states and capitals

Minnesota-At. Paul

Wisconsin-Madison

Michigan-Lansing

Illinois-Springfield

Indiana-Indianapolis

Ohio-Columbus

Read your pledge minutes and write in your log.

This Week’s Objectives

Literacy

-The students will prepare for the M-Step reading and focus on contractions.

Writing

– The students will continue practicing for the M-Step using the R.A.C.E.R. method.

Science

-The students will finish looking at what causes nighttime and daytime. Then they will look at shadows and what creates them. Finally, graphing their length at various times of the day.

Social Studies

– The students will continue studying the three colonial regions in the New World including their economics, landforms, religion and government. Then we will look at some of the settlements in the colonies.

Math

-The students will continue multiplying fractions by multi-digit whole numbers through conversion to a whole number problem and reasoning about the placement of the decimal.
