Finally, the weather seems to be breaking!  Maybe Spring will be coming soon!

Next Wednesday, March 20th, the 5th grades will be going on a field trip to the IMax theater and the Ford Rouge Factory Tour.  We will leave at about 9:15 and be back by 2:30.  The cost for the students will be $8.00.  If you would like to join us, the cost for parents is $16.50.  Please let me know if you will be available to chaperone this trip.  Help  is always appreciated.

Wednesday, March 13th, is a Late Start.

Homework

Spelling– Write your words 2 times each in cursive on paper.

Social Studies– Study new states and capitals

Read your pledge minutes and write in your log.

This Week’s Objectives

Literacy

-The students will continue work on identifying the 4 types of sentences (declarative, interrogative, imperative, exclamatory) and  conjunctions.  We will also be preparing for the M-Step testing by working with text and questioning on-line.

Writing

– The students will continue work on our classroom narrative as well as working on their own narrative.

Science

-The students will look at what causes nighttime and daytime and how the revolution and rotation of the Earth cause them.

Social Studies

– The students will continue studying the three colonial regions in the New World including their economics, landforms, religion and government.

Math

-The students will continue working on  multi-digit multiplication.
