Monday, October 15th

 

Another busy week has started. Now that all reading testing has ended, we can start our reading groups and get down to classroom instruction.

This Wednesday is a Late Start.  School will begin at 9:35 (breakfast is served at 9:00).

Mark your calendar, this Friday we will have a Parent Math Meeting at 1:30 (we changed the time for those who have middle school pick ups) in the classroom. All parents are to attend and learn about the new math program we are using, Eureka, and how you can help your child be successful.

Homework

Spelling– Write your words 3 times each in your spiral.

Read 20 minutes and write in your log.

This Week’s Objectives

Literacy

-The students will continue identifying reading strategies and finding the main ideas and key details in text.

Writing

– The students will continue work on their opinion pieces –revising, editing and publishing it.

Science

-The students will continue identifying the 6 mystery substances observing physical and chemical changes.

Social Studies

– The students will be thinking like a historian and identifying the difference between primary and secondary sources.

Math

-The students will work on adding and subtracting decimals.
