Today was the first day for NWEA testing.  We were able to use an air conditioned room so it made it easier for the kids to concentrate.  Be sure that your child has plenty of sleep so that we can complete the reading test tomorrow.

I am sending home many Volunteer and Chaperone forms that were sent to school.  In order for these to be accepted, a picture of your license or other photo id is necessary.  You can have that done at our school office.

If your child would like to join the school Safety Squad, a meeting will be held after school tomorrow.  Be sure that your child brings the permission slip with him/her.

Today we had a presentation with Oakman’s instrumental teacher.  Many students were interested in joining band or orchestra.  If your child was one of them, the cost is $70 for the year (you can make $10 monthly payments, too).  If you have an intrument at home that your child can use, then there is no cost.

Homework

Spelling– Write the words 1-7 in sentences in your spiral notebook

Read at least 20 minutes and write in your log.
