**MONDAY…Algebra Readiness Test

•Geometry Unit: Over the last week or so students investigated the relationship between circumference and diameter/radius then solved problems about circumference.  Next they did an activity to derive the formula for finding the area of a circle, watched a video HERE, and practiced solving area problems.  Also, students continued to review using the angle relationships of complementary, supplementary (linear angles), and vertical angles to solve angle problems.

•SLOT(Bellwork): Solving and graphing Inequalities (< > ≤ ≥)

HOMEWORK:
Finish “More Practice” with Angles for next week. Angles QUIZ on Wednesday!

Important Dates:
Friday, May 27 – NO SCHOOL
Monday, May 30 – NO SCHOOL
Thursday, June 16 – Last Day of School

**Spring Math NWEA Friday (tomorrow)!  If needed, we will finish on Monday…

•Geometry Unit: Last week students reviewed the formulas for area and perimeter of rectangles, squares, and parallelograms. Then we used the formulas to find a missing side length, given the area (or perimeter) and one side.  This week we have been studying angle relationships: complementary angles (the sum of two angles = 90°), supplementary angles (the sum of two angles = 180°), and vertical angles (opposite angles are congruent).

•SLOT(Bellwork): Solving and graphing Inequalities (< > ≤ ≥)

HOMEWORK:
Finish complementary/supplementary angles practice (p.2 of handout)

Important Dates:
Friday, May 6 – Math NWEA testing
Wednesday, May 11 – Late Start
Friday, May 13 – PTA Fun Day
Friday, May 27 – NO SCHOOL
Monday, May 30 – NO SCHOOL
Thursday, June 16 – Last Day of School
