Check In

Hi everyone! I just wanted to do a mid-week check in… I hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe. Thank you to all of you for checking your email and for emailing me when you have questions. You guys ROCK! Do not think that you are bothering me when you email me questions; let’s face it, I have no where to go!

I have been grading your book projects, argumentative essays, poetry essays, and poems. You have been great about turning these things in.

Just a clarification about what I am assigning. I want to assign meaningful tasks that are inline with STEM and with what we have been doing in class. I don’t want to assign work that is meaningless and busy work.

A few clarifications:

8th Grade

The 3rd book check in…I am fully preparing to come back to school! and so I want to make sure we are prepared for the capstone essay. Complete the check in and submit it. I will let you know if you are on the right track with my feedback. Don’t be afraid that you are making a “mistake”. No mistakes here, only helpful feedback 🙂

6th Grade

Your TED questions – your evidence does nit have to be direct quotes, it can be a specific event that you paraphrase. Since the story I posted does not have page numbers, don’t worry about citing your examples. These are extraordinary times, so I can let that slide 🙂

Again, if you need anything email me!

Week of March 16th Plans

Hi everyone! I hope that everyone is doing well and feeling healthy. Here goes our first week of online learning! I am going to attempt to continue with the lessons that I was going to teach if we were in school. The difference being that we will not be able to do project based and 6th graders, instead of reading a novel, will be doing it through short stories. If you are having technology issues, please let me know and we will try and work out a solution.

Below you will find a summary of the expectations for the week. All actual materials are in Google Classroom.

If you have any questions, please email me. It’s NO bother! Our classroom is now digital 🙂

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through our new reality.
