8th Grade

JOURNAL: School – – Students should never be forced to repeat a year at school.  Pick a side and explain.

Today the 8th graders participated in a presentation with Dr. DeSouza about “Mindfulness”. Specifically, that there are four pillars for success: Belonging, purpose, transcendence, and story telling. Ask your student about it tonight!

HOMEWORK:  Be sure to be reading your capstone project books (2)

6th Grade

JOURNAL:  SNOW DAY – – In an effort to not miss valuable days of instruction, the State of Michigan is considering to pass a law that says for every snow day that we have, we will have to make that day of school up on a Saturday.  If a student skips Saturday makeups, they will be held back a grade.  Argue why this is good or bad for education (and breathe!  This is NOT true).

1.  Read “The Good Deed” pages 48-54

– Pay attention to the similarities and differences between Heather and Risa

HOMEWORK:  No homework 🙂
