JOURNAL: Would You Rather?- – Be completely invisible for one day or be able to fly for one day?  Explain.

1.Small group read two speeches (Patrick Henry and Samuel Adams) – box and summarize

2.After you box and summarize, highlight and label the different arguments:

  a.  Blue – pathos

  b.  Red – ethos

  c.  Green – logos

HOMEWORK:  IXLs C.1 and L.1 (95% – by Friday)

6th Grade

JOURNAL:  Story Ending – – …the students looked at each other slyly, looked back at Ms. Fryzel, and said all together, “Nothing!”

1.New groups

2.Introduce project challenge: Your team works for the Fryzel Publishing Company and she is looking for the next bestselling children’s book.  Your team has been asked to “pitch” a story idea to the publishing executives before they give the go ahead to write the story.  They are asking for the team to construct a story board of the idea.  (a plot structure, a developed conflict, and a clear theme)

3.  Start brainstorming
