Children’s Folk Songs

September 16, 2015September 16, 2015 Jeanette Fowler Leave a comment

Last week, I introduced folk songs to the class. These are songs that have a lot of rhyme and repetition and are often passed on from one group or generation to another by listening and joining in. These songs help students hear rhyme, patterns, and rhythm in words. Here is a link to Raffi that we have used.

About Me

I love what I do! I have been here at River Oaks for over 20 years and can’t think of a better place to be! I majored in Science and Children’s Literature and have a Master’s in Reading. I live in Brighton with my husband and two adult children. We own a spoiled princess of a dog, Maddie. When I am not doing schoolwork, I am either reading, cooking, or crocheting.
