This week we continue our study of plural nouns. This week we are focused on irregular plurals. That is when the spelling of the singular noun is changed to make the plural. For instance, the singular “foot” becomes the plural “feet.”
Vocabulary your child should know:
noun- a person, place, thing, or idea (ex. girl, school, pencil, freedom)
singular – one of a noun (book, box, puppy, man)
plural- more than one of a noun (books, boxes, puppies, men)
Spelling words:
- woman – women
- goose – geese
- mouse – mice
- foot – feet
- man – men
- cactus – cacti
- tooth – teeth
- person – people
- child – children
Students need to be able to spell both the singular and the plural and know which are singular and which are plural.
