Today we took some time to review the features of graphs that we had been looking at for a little while now. We have learned about intervals, increasing and decreasing intervals, intervals where graphs are concave up or down, local maximum and minimums, end behavior, and roots/zeros of graphs.

Today we focused on the graphs of cubic (3rd-degree) polynomial functions and learned about different features of those graphs, like how to write when they increase/decrease, what “local maximum” and “local minimum” points are, and how those are different than “absolute maximum” and “absolute minimum” points.

Today we had an introduction to polynomials. Some of you may already know about polynomials from Algebra 1, and that is great! We are going to be reviewing what they are and building upon that Algebra 1 knowledge in this class.
In Agile Mind, we started with Topic 4: Introduction to Polynomials, go to the “Overview” section and we did all 3 pages online.

Today is the last review day before the Topic 3 Test. In class, we worked on the study guide on the Agile Mind website, dearborn.agilemind.com.
We also took some time to reflect on which parts of the unit we feel the best with and which parts we need the most help with. Reflect on your own feelings and keep this in mind when studying tonight. Make sure you are focusing more on the types of questions you feel you need the most practice on, and know that you can spend a little less time on the ones you already know well.
For the study guide, make sure you go to the “My Agile Mind” tab at the top of the page, then go to your “Calendar”, then click on the “Topic 3 Study Guide”. You can complete this multiple times, which I recommend.
