Welcome to Kindergarten!!!

Ms. Fadhl

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to the world of Kindergarten at Henry Ford Elementary. My name is Kimberly Fadhl, and I am excited about the wonderful possibilities that await my class this year. I am a highly qualified teacher educated by the University of Michigan majoring in Early Childhood Education with a Masters degree in English as a Second Language (ESL). I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and being outdoors. I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.

I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send me a note in your child’s folder, email me at fadhlk@dearbornschools.org, or call me at 313-827-4700. I can also be reached via ClassDojo App through personal messages. I will also do my part by updating my classroom iblog weekly to keep you informed on what we have been doing in class as well as things that are upcoming. For individual concerns, I will contact you by phone, send a note home, ClassDojo messages, or email you (if an email address is provided).

Please feel free to participate in your child’s Kindergarten year as much as you are able. Helping hands are always needed. Whether it is reading a story to the class, helping with a class celebration, or any other participation will enrich our classroom experiences.

We have an exciting year ahead of us and I look forward to sharing your child’s experiences at school with you.

Sincerely,

Ms. Fadhl

Summertime Meal Program

If you have kids in need of breakfast and lunch this summer, simply text “FOOD” to 877877 and you’ll receive a message with the closest location where they can get free summer meals.
***There’s no paperwork to fill out, no income requirement to meet. They just feed the kids. It’s really that simple. They serve kids 18 and under. As long as they can eat table food, they can eat with this program.
No Kid Hungry has access to information about tens of thousands of groups serving free meals nationwide as part of the the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Food Service Program.

Don’t forget to use Zearn for Math at home

Families:  Please do not forget that we have Zearn learning website available for your students to continue to practice Math at home.

Kindergarten will not be teaching the 6th Module of Eureka Math so practicing with Zearn will greatly benefit your student. I will be sending reminder usernames and passwords home for your use in the summer!

Cranbrook Field Trip

Kindergarten is going on a field trip to the Cranbrook Science Institute on May 16, 2019. We will leave school at 9:00 a.m. and return to school around 2:00 p.m. This field trip is FREE for all Kindergarten students. Please sign form and return it to school no later than May 10, 2019.

Field trips are a privilege.  PBIS expectations of being safe, responsible and respectful, must be followed.  If your child gets his or her card flipped to RED between now and the date of our field trip, he or she will not be allowed to go on the field trip with us.  He or she will be placed in another classroom while our class is gone.

Students must pack their own healthy lunch in a brown bag. We will be eating our bag lunches at the picnic area at the pumpkin patch.  Please NO glass containers or reusable container because everything will be thrown away!

Thank you so much!

Ms. Fadhl

Library Field Trip Tomorrow

Field Trip Tomorrow

Tomorrow is our field trip to Henry Ford Centennial Library. We will be walking there, with the help of the Dearborn Police, at 9:30 am and returning back to school at 11:15. We will be back in time for lunch, so your child can still plan on getting lunch at school. Due to the weather, please make sure your child has a rain coat/jacket with a hood, and comfortable walking shoes (such as gym shoes or rain boots). Due to safety, there will be NO umbrellas allowed. Unless it is thunder storming, we will be going!
Thank you for your support! Let me know if you have any questions!
