BOOK IT! Program

This program motivates children to read by rewarding their reading accomplishments with praise, recognition and pizza. The program is simple, flexible, fun and free to use in your classroom.  We set a reading goal for each child in the class. When they meet their monthly goal, I get to recognize them with a Reading Award Certificate, good for a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza®.

Please be sure to follow the directions and ONLY each day one at a time, NOT the whole month at one time.  I would like you to leave the BOOK IT! Calendar in the back of the blue folder so I can check the calendar daily.  I will not give free pizza coupons to those students who do not follow directions.

Weekly Homework

Weekly Homework Notebooks will be coming home with your student EVERY Monday to be returned on FRIDAY. Please work with your student every day to complete each day’s homework. I am supplying one notebook for the years so do not allow your student to scribble or ruin the notebook.

Homework given on Monday to be returned on or DUE:  FRIDAY.

Field trip Reminder

Field trip is coming up next week; if you have not turned in the field trip forma and money please do so ASAP. If you are hoping to chaperone, make sure your background check is cleared in the school office.  Field trip is October 10, 2017

Welcome to Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten!

We are going to have an exciting year filled with lots of learning and fun.

Make sure you visit my blog at least once a week.  I will update the site weekly but if there is a lot of new information I will update it more often.

Remember to visit the websites that are listed in the left hand column.  There are some great sites and games to help support your child’s learning.  If you have misplaced your child’s login information for the everyday math site let me know and I will send home the information again.

 Questions:

If you have any questions or concerns you may write me a note and place it in your child’s homework folder but the quickest way to get a reply is through email.  You may also call the office and leave me a message. You may also call and leave a message on my voicemail 313-827-4700 ext.21345.

I will call you back at my earliest convenience. (It may be on a prep time, before or after school)  If you call the office, they will not put your call through directly to me.  It is important to stay on a schedule and to have uninterrupted time to focus on learning.  Every time I take a call during the day that means the children are missing out on learning.
