Updates for the week…

Today is our craft night after school!  3:45 – 5:30 for students.  $5 if paid before 10am, $7 at the door.  Students do not need parents to attend but all parents are welcome.

Remember to have your child go onto Zearn and Study Island daily

Please send in a healthy snack for your child daily, we typically have snack in the morning.

11/11/19 Updates for the week… Thank you for your patience while I was not here for the last 3 ½ weeks. My Dad passed away last week after 20 days in the hospital. Up until this last month he was a happy and active 93 year old and a great Dad! Thank you for the thoughts, prayers, and kind notes on Class DoJo and emails. Those meant the world to me and my family at a very difficult time.

I know I missed Halloween with my students and would like to make it up to them this Friday with a Fall party in the afternoon. If you would like to send in a bag of candy so the students can make candy bags it would be appreciated. I already have everything else we need for the party.

Thank you to all of the families who had conferences scheduled last Thursday and changed to this Thursday. Conferences are this week on Tuesday and Thursday. I will send a reminder note home on Monday.

Good afternoon,
Tomorrow was going to be our first parent meeting. I need to postpone this meeting to a future date. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We took my dad to the hospital Wednesday night and he is in the critical care unit. I will reschedule the meeting for a later date and let all families know at least a week in advance.

This Friday, October 11,  We’ll have a Parent meeting @ 9 AM. It is also a half day of school.  School will be dismissed at 11:45   Please be on time to pick up your children.

Next Wednesday, October 16^th is Late Start.  School will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m.   Please do not bring your children earlier than 9:00 a.m.

I explained this to students last week but I want you to know why there are two numbers on the spelling test.  Students will now receive two grades for spelling.  One for correctly spelling the spelling words (lower case unless at the beginning of a sentence or is a proper noun) and one for language. This will be for the sentence written, correctly spelling high frequency, capital and lower case letters where they belong, and correct punctuation at the end of a sentence.

3^rd graders have started timed multiplication tests!  Keep up the great home practice. Thank you.
