Week of May 29th

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  We had a busy week this week.  Today was the 5th grade Mall.  Our class made molded crayons and sold them to other students in our School.  Our 5th graders had a great time being producers.

5th grade parents if you have not done so, please send in your child’s baby picture and current picture to be posted on our 5th grade memory wall.  Thank you

Have a great weekend.

Week of May 15th

Sunny and warm weather is here! As part of Snow Elementary Leader In Me Program, we are asking you, our fabulous students, to reach out in our community to help others.  If you’d like to be a part of the May Plant-Up Club, simply volunteer to help plant-up a neighbor’s, relative’s or your very own yard.  “Plant-up” could include helping plant flowers, vegetables, or preparing garden beds for future flowers and veggies.  Please be sure to have a parent with you and get permission of the community member before planting up.  You are giving back to the community, so please offer to do this free of cost.

Each time you help “plant-up” someone’s yard, write the date and color a square on the chart given to you by your classroom teacher. Once you have helped 5 times in the community, please return this chart to Ms. Krawczyk, Mrs. Bush or Mrs. Grizzell for acknowledgement of your leadership and kindness.

A special thank you to all students who have helped so far: Aasim M., Farah F., Zoe D., Hasan, Kayla J., Ahmad J., Molly S., Ryan R. and Ahmad A.

It has been another wonderful week.  The students love learning about wants and needs.  We have been talking about how we earn money to buy the things we need or want.  I hope they have been discussing this at home with you.  I want to thank my 5th grade parents for a great tour of Stout Middle School.  I know you child will have a wonderful experience during their middle school years as they did for elementary school.   Don’t forget the School Carnival will be May the 19th.  Hope to see all of you there.  Also next week is our field trip to Life Town and Leon’s for lunch.  We are going Tuesday, May 2nd.   Have a safe and great weekend.

Week of March 27th

What a busy month.  The field trips were a lot of fun and everyone showed great manners.  I was so proud of them.  I also want to thank the parents who volunteered their time to help with our field trip to the DIA.

Please remember to have your child practice their reading over our Spring Break.  I will be contacting our 5th grade parents to set up our visit to Stout Middle School and then we will be setting up dates for our transition IEPs from Elementary School to the Middle School.

Have a restful Spring Break.  When we return we will be starting our State Assessment MI-ACCESS.  Please make sure your child gets to bed early so they can do their best.

Thank you again for allowing us to work with a great group of students.
