In an effort to promote early literacy the Dearborn Public Library is running a great program encouraging parents and family members to read with their children with the ultimate goal being reading 1000 books before they enter Kindergarten.

Children and families keep track of the number of books read with their child in the program booklet they are given. Children then receive prizes and acknowledgements for evey hundred books they read along the way.

Parents and families, bring your children out to the Library and get started today!!

It was great to see the Veterans Park and War Memorial project come to fruition.

It was one of the most moving ceremonies I have ever attended and the turn out was great!! 

More importantly all of Dearborn’s Fallen Heroes from World War I through Vietnam were honored and forever memorialized for current and future generations. In adddition living veterans in attendance were honored as the flag of each branch of the military was raised while the Dearborn High School band played a moving rendition of each of the 5  military branches songs.

Thank you all very much for your service to our country!!
