Tomorrow Salina School turns 100 years old! A very momentous occasion!

Proud to say that my great-grandmother taught English classes there many years ago and proud to be a 4th Generation Educator!

Congratulations Salina and Dearborn Public Schools!

This weekend was the celebration of the 49th annual Yemen American Benevolent Association Dinner.

A fun community event in which many deserving Dearborn Public Schools students were awarded scholarships.

Sara Gleicher of the Healthy Dearborn Coalition was also honored (I’m proud to be a part of the Coalition!)

It was great to see some former students from many years ago and find out that they are doing well!

This weekend was the 29th Annual Arab American Chamber of Commerce Gala:

“Building Bridges” was the theme of this event and it was wonderful to see the partnerships high lighted throughout the community doing exactly this!

I was honored to be invited to attend the Investiture of the 6th President of Henry Ford College.

A great event in which President Kavalhuna extended a message of positivity to HFC and the community! 

Very exciting news from yesterday’s Healthy Dearborn Coalition meeting — specifically from our Inclusive Health Committee.

John Waterman from PEAC came to speak to the Coalition regarding bicycle programs for special needs individuals.

This is the organization that we arranged to set-up a booth at this year’s Dearborn Homecoming Special All Stars Day (see earlier blog posts for more information).

We are looking to eventually set-up a summer bike program for special needs individuals along with some training or informational days or appearances at specific schools and/or parent community meetings.

Great things to come!
