Special All Stars Day

This great annual event was another hit. I was proud to be involved again especially with the new edition of the Healthy Dearborn Coalition Inclusive Health Committee’s booth. A multitude of people attended and picked up informational items with tips on how to stay healthy and ate some healthy snacks. One of the biggest attractions of the booth was our teaming with PEAC which provided the opportunity for special needs individuals to ride a bike for the first time!

The work continues during the summer ….

All of our action teams met today to identify what goals and steps present themselves as most important and to celebrate another successful year.

Be sure to check out the Healthy Dearborn Coalition presence at the Dearborn Homecoming and specifically our Inclusive Heath Committee’s booth at Special All Stars Day on the first Friday of Homecoming.

The “Salute to America” held at Greenfield Village is an excellent way to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Outstanding local orchestras perform topped off by a great fireworks display.

I ran into Aiden, one of my awesome students, today at Greenfield Village.

It was great to visit with him and his sister while waiting for the Sir John Bennett Clock to ring!

A huge thanks goes out to HYPE Athletics from the Dearborn Public Schools Adaptive PE department and the Special Education department.

On behalf of our students who so greatly continue to benefit from our Adaptive PE Swimming Program conducted at HYPE we thank you and present Ali Sayed with this poster to forever depict the learning and fun his generosity provides:

Check out this new Adaptive Bike Share Program – it looks like it has a lot of potential and will be fun!
