The first card marking has ended. Report cards will be passed out at Parent Teacher Conferences. They are Monday, November 12, 4-7 and November 14, 3:30-6:30. Please come with your parents to the conferences.
The new card marking has begun. When reading this blog, there are due dates with 2 numbers. They indicate A and B days, whichever day you have Ms. Dowgiallo. ie… Nov 7/8 means the B day is due the 7th, the A day is due the 8th. Nov 8/9 means the A day is due the 8th, the B day the 9th. Each assignment will have a FINAL day to turn in for partial credit. After that date, they will be marked as a zero and will no longer be accepted. In order to get an A+ on an assignment, it must be 100% completed, on time and neat.
- Frayer models are due Nov 2/5. The first word is either Scientific Method or Engineering Design. Each student was given a second word for the assignment. They should be complete, neat and colored for full credit. Click on the following link to print out a new copy. frayer model The last day to turn them in is Nov 8/9.
- Earthquake Readiness reading is in google classroom. You can print out a new copy if you’ve lost it. The assignment was to do a Box and Summary, (underline important information in each of the 10 paragraphs, then write a one sentence summary for each paragraph) and do the Talking to the text for each paragraph. (What questions do you have or what did it make you think about?) We will discuss and do the final question on Nov 7/8. It will be handed in Nov 7/8 for credit. Any late ones will be accepted up until Nov 13/14.
- We started our next unit. We will be learning about characteristics of living things, how our body systems work together, cells and genetics. The students created a poster of living and nonliving objects to see what they already know about the subject. Here are some examples.
