Students will be taking a social studies map quiz on Monday October 28. They should have brought home the maps they made to study from. Students will need to be able to label the Great Lakes, the two peninsulas, sand dunes, mountains, forests, apple orchards, the Mackinac Bridge, Dearborn and our state capital, Lansing.

Monday, October 21: Bingo for Books, 4:00-5:00
Students must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or more

Our PTA is collecting bags of candy for our annual Halloween Parade

Students have all got their login information for zearn.org. This is a math website that goes along with our math program. In class, I am currently teaching module 1, lesson 11. That is where students should be on zearn.org

This website reviews and reinforces what we are doing in class. If you do not have a computer at home or your child is unable to go on this site at home, they can come before school between 8:00- 8:30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to go on this site in the classroom.

Today I sent the math tests home with the students. Please sign the test and return it to school tomorrow with your child. Thank you.

There will be a math test on Tuesday. Students brought a math review sheet today. We went over the first side of the paper in class today and will be going over the other side in class on Monday. I told the class to review the first side over the paper over the weekend and they can do the back on a seperate sheet of paper for practice.

Tomorrow the students will be having a math quiz. It will be on division using drawings of equal groups and arrays. It will be very similar to homework that was sent home.

Our class is going to the Dearborn Fire Safety House on Monday, September 30. Permission slips went home on Friday. Our class will be going in the morning. The trip takes about two hours. I can take along 1-2 chaperones.
In order to chaperone, you must have an i-chat form filled out with the office in advance. If you filled one out in previous years, it still may be good. Please check with the office if you have any questions about it.

November 5th is voting day. There is lots of bond information is available at bit.ly//BRICSbond if you have questions.

NWEA
We will begin NWEA testing this week and next. In the third grade, students take four NWEA tests- Math, Reading, Language, and Science.

Gym
Students have gym class on Tuesday mornings. Please make sure that your child wears gym shoes on Tuesdays.
