NWEA Testing

Students will begin M-Step testing this week.  We will start with the reading portion. Math, science, and language will follow later. Please remind your child to take their time and do their best on these tests.     Students should be going on the NWEA portion of Study Island for practice.

Picnic

We know that some students will be fasting because of Ramadan.  So the 2nd and 3rd grade teams have decided to have their picnic on Monday morning.  We will be ordering pizza closer to lunchtime.  We are asking students to bring $2 each.  They can also bring a water bottle/juice box  and snack if they choose.  We will be out in the back field so they can bring a blanket to sit on as well.  You can bring outdoor games such as balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, etc.

Google Classroom Assignments

I have assigned 2 Google classroom assignments to the class.  One is comparing 2 shapes. That is due on Tuesday.   The other is comparing copper mining and iron mining in Michigan.  All of the information for that assignment can be found in their social studies packets.  That assignment is due on Thursday.  Students have had class time to work on both of these.  I will give them some time next week in class as well.
If they want to work on these at home, here are the steps to get on Google Classroom:

  • Go to dearbornschools.org/students
  • Click on the blue button that says Clever on the left side of the screen
  • They will need to click on Log In With Google
  • Their login is their student number followed by @dearbornschools.org
  • They know their password
  • Click on Google Classroom
  • Then click on “Ms. Donoghue’s 3rd Grade” for the math assignment or “Social Studies Donoghue” for the social studies assignment
