Our next Geer Park mathathon will be on Thursday. They will be given 50 addition and subtraction problems (25 of each) to solve in 6 minutes. Today I gave them a practice mathathon test. They will be bringing this home today so you can see how they did on the practice test.

We will have a short quiz on social studies vocabulary words on Monday. Students are bringing home their social studies notebooks with the vocabulary words and definitions. They need to know the meanings of the following words: community, government, diversity, rules, laws, patriotism, symbol, Pledge of Allegiance

Students will be bringing home the directions for a geometric animal project that they will be doing over winter break. Here is an example of the project done by a second grader.

The Henry Ford Centennial Library has a used book sale on the first Wednesday of each month. They are having a sale today. Usually they have many children’s books for sale for $0.25- $0.50. This is a great way go buy inexpensive books for your child.

This week, December 2nd and December 4th menus for first choice will flip flop. We will have hummus and pita on Tuesday and fish tacos on Thursday.
