Ocean Fun and Homework Packet

We have been so busy with our ocean unit, that the homework got lost under a stack of crafts! The homework packet will come home today. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Here are just a few pictures of some of the things we have been doing already this week:

The children were wondering about how waves are formed, so we got a big tub of water and we all took turns trying to make waves with the wind from our mouths!

We also have been busy learning about how to keep the ocean clean and why that is important. We have learned about the ocean habitat and which animals live in the ocean. We have learned new ocean vocabulary. We have made graphs about which of us have swam in the ocean before and about what ocean animal is our favorite. We have read articles and highlighted the important information, as well as watched videos to help us build our background knowledge.

We also have spent a lot of time learning all about the ocean zones and which ocean animals live in each zone. We completed a R.A.N strategy (Reading and Analyzing Non-Fiction Text) and a craft about the ocean zones.

As you can see, we have been very busy!
